Rules for Submission

Want to submit your own fanfic to be displayed on the site? Just read a few rules before you get too gung-ho.

RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1)      Violence is allowed. You can kill off any characters you like kill characters smilie (LOL sounds pretty mean, but all authors know it adds some good drama), as long as it makes sense in the plotline. Excessively gory details or bloody stuff should be kept to a minimum.

2)      Romance is allowed. Feel free to make your characters run around with each other as much as you like. But please, keep things age appropriate. Keep in mind that these ARE preteens we’re talking about, so try to make it accurate. If you’re writing a fic where the kids are older, then you can bend this rule a bit, but anything beyond kissing and hugging should be implied. And please, nothing obscene. scared smilie We don’t want to be scarred for life here.

3)      Aging or regressing of characters is allowed. For example, you can write a story about the kids as teens or young adults or whatever happens to tickle your fancy.

4)      Original characters are allowed. Keep in mind, however, that these stories should be ABOUT Jimmy Neutron, not merely devices by which you tell stories about your original characters. Mary Sue fics (stories where the author places them self in the story) tend to get on our nerves unless there is a darn good reason why they are there and a good plotline results.

5)      Feel free to make your fanfics as long as possible. Write a novel for all we care! However, your story should be longer than 5 pages unless it’s a “snapshot” story or a poem of some kind.

6)      You MUST keep Jimmy and the gang in character. This is the number one rule when submitting a fanfic. While we understand that every person has their own take on each character and differences in portrayal may arise, you NEED to keep them acting like they do on the show. For example, you should not suddenly have Libby hate music hating music without some kind of explanation, as this would be a breach in character.

7)  Any fanfic you submit MUST be complete. We will not accept works on progress. Sorry...but we can't have a bunch of half finished stories lying around. Please not that this rule does not apply to site administrators, however

8)  Lastly, the fics are accepted on basis of merit. We reserve the right to reject fanfics if we feel they are not up to snuff. “Effort” is taken into consideration, but if your story is illegible, riddled with grammar and spelling errors, or lacks any kind of reasonably plotline, we’re not going to take it.  Sounds mean, but it’ll help you all become better writers.

That's all! Good luck!
